ALFARRÀS FLOUR MILL

In the past, Alfarràs was a small barracks with a flour mill next to the Pinyana irrigation canal.

The flour mill dates to the 15th century.

SANT PERE OLD CHURCH

The old Church of Sant Pere Apóstol is of Romanesque origin, it was remodelled during the 18th century in a baroque style.

In the 20th century the church was moved to a new building.

MEDIEVAL BRIDGE

The medieval bridge of Alfarràs, also called the old bridge, is located next to the new bridge and over the Noguera Ribagorzana river.

Its construction dates to the 14th – 15th century.

During the civil war, half of the bridge was demolished, preserving the part that touched the town. Later it was rebuilt with an iron metal structure.

PINYANA CANAL

Considered one of the oldest irrigation canals in Catalonia, with more than 7,000 irrigators, it still preserves more than 50% of the irrigation system as it used to be.

Currently, the Pinyana canal is more than 50 km long, has a flow of 11.5m3, and reaches more than 150,000 inhabitants with drinking water.

CHURCH OF SANT NICOLAU

The original church was built in the 17th century, and later various renovations were carried out.

This church is currently within the jurisdiction of the Parochial Church of Alfarràs.
